COMPANY RESPONSIBILITIES

A Event Hire Ltd Management will:

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
  • Provide suitable training and supervision.
  • Maintain equipment in safe condition.
  • Carry out risk assessments where required.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents.
  • Provide appropriate PPE where necessary.
  • Monitor health and safety performance.
  • Ensure contractors and temporary workers operate safely.

EMPLOYEE RESPONSIBILITIES

Employees are required to:

  • Take reasonable care of their own health and safety.
  • Take reasonable care of others who may be affected by their actions.
  • Follow company procedures and safe systems of work.
  • Report hazards, accidents, and near misses.
  • Use equipment correctly.
  • Wear PPE where required.
  • Avoid misuse of equipment.
  • Cooperate with management on health and safety matters.

Failure to comply with health and safety procedures may result in disciplinary action.


ORGANISATION OF HEALTH & SAFETY

Director / Responsible Person

The Director or nominated responsible person has overall responsibility for:

  • Reviewing risk assessments.
  • Ensuring staff competency.
  • Accident investigation.
  • Emergency planning.

RISK ASSESSMENTS

A Event Hire Ltd will carry out suitable and sufficient risk assessments for:

  • Manual handling
  • Temporary event installations
  • Event furniture and equipment
  • Public interaction
  • Vehicle movement
  • Outdoor event operations

Control measures identified within risk assessments must be followed at all times.


MANUAL HANDLING

The company recognises manual handling as a key risk within event hire operations.

To reduce risks:

  • Staff will receive manual handling awareness training.

WORK EQUIPMENT

Vehicles shall be maintained in roadworthy condition.


SLIPS, TRIPS & FALLS

To minimise slip and trip risks:

  • Work areas shall be kept tidy.
  • Equipment shall not obstruct walkways.
  • Spillages shall be cleaned immediately.
  • Cables and temporary items shall be managed safely.

EVENT SITE SAFETY

Prior to installation works:

  • Site-specific hazards shall be identified.
  • Access and egress routes confirmed.
  • Ground conditions assessed.
  • Public safety considered during setup and removal.

Unsafe work activities must stop until safe conditions are restored.


ACCIDENT REPORTING

All accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, and near misses must be reported immediately.

The company will:

  • Record incidents appropriately.
  • Investigate causes.
  • Implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Comply with RIDDOR reporting requirements where applicable.

FIRST AID

The company will ensure:

ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
